MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Governor Tony Evers signed a bipartisan bill on Friday that will create a new licensure opportunity for registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses and expand healthcare service access for Wisconsinites.

Gov. Evers said nurses play a crucial role in the healthcare workforce.

“I’m proud of our work to expand opportunities for nurses to not only grow their career but create a system that allows for more advanced practitioners here in Wisconsin,” said Gov. Evers. “I’d like to thank Sen. Testin, Sen. Cabral-Guevara, Rep. Kurtz, and Rep. Subeck, as well as the many nursing and physician groups that we worked with to get this bipartisan bill across the finish line to help bring more folks into the healthcare profession.”
