Q. Help! Black Nightshade vine, with the purple flowers, has invaded my flower bed and is proving very hard to eliminate.
I’m especially upset that it’s taken root at the base of my beloved David Austin “Gertrude Jekyll” rose. To add more stress, I developed a terrible rash after clearing out an especially thick patch, making me dread further encounters.
I’m hoping to cut back the vine at the rose’s base and carefully saturate the vine stubs with Roundup, but do you have a more effective suggestion?
