WOODRUFF, S.C. —

An Upstate couple said they're feeling relieved after the man charged with killing their daughter and granddaughter in a multi-vehicle DUI crash three years ago has now been found guilty.

It's been three years since Jim and Wanda Howard lost their daughter and granddaughter.

"Having a family, going to college, having a career; all those things were taken away in just nine seconds," Jim said.

Their 43-year-old daughter, Jamie, and 14-year-old granddaughter Rylie were killed in a July 2022 drunk driving crash involving a semi truck.

"Jamie was a good singer. She was in the chorus in high school, and she sang in the choir at her church, and she also helped with the youth," Wanda said.
