In recent years, thousands of North Korean IT workers have used stolen and made-up US identities to pose as Western developers, engineers, and tech consultants to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars a year to Pyongyang’s military programs. But their ability to embed themselves in corporate America doesn’t rely on trickery alone. It requires help from inside the United States.
