ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

On Thursday at 10:37 p.m., UNM police officers responded to the area of Farris Engineering Center on UNM's campus in response to reports of a fire.

When officers arrived, they located a fire near the west side of the building and attempted to locate the suspect, who was seen on UNM surveillance footage in the area.

At 10:57 p.m., officers located another fire near the Student Residence Center Building G. Through surveillance, they were able to track the movements of the suspect, and one of the officers located him on the Roma Pedestrian Walkway heading westbound.

At approximately 11:01 p.m., officers were able to arrest the suspect who was identified as Jason Eduardo Flores, 25. During Flores's arrest, officers located a small black lighter in Jason's front right po
