Halifax has issued a reminder to customers about a good practice to follow when making payments. One customer, who was planning a trip to the USA, contacted the bank with concerns that their card might not work abroad.

In anticipation of potential issues, they asked: "Who do I have to contact if my card gets blocked when trying to use it? I have the app installed, the website says you use security to check, panicking it will say fraudulent as I'm out the country."

The Halifax website provides guidance for customers travelling overseas, stating: "Our fraud and security systems are always on the lookout for suspicious activity on your accounts meaning you can relax when you are away, making going abroad stress free."
