Carmelo Anthony began his NBA journey with the Denver Nuggets. The former NBA star spent nearly eight seasons there before being traded to the New York Knicks in 2011.

However, during a recent interview on iHeartRadio, Anthony unveiled some surprising details about the trade saga that fans might not have known. He revealed that the deal sending him to New York wasn’t initially on the table. Rather, it was with the Los Angeles Lakers .

“The deal was done with the Lakers. Me and Nene for Lamar Odom and Bynum. That deal was done. I never thought about New York. But, then when they turned that deal down, when George had that deal and turned that deal down ,” Anthony said.
