SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Water temps at the beach are up to 90° along the Suncoast. Most beach locations are reporting typical conditions, including our normal types of seaweed. On Thursday and Friday, Siesta Key Beach reported some jellyfish.
Beaches could see isolated morning showers, followed by afternoon thunderstorms. Lightning could be frequent and dangerous for the weekend. Coastal roads could experience ponding or flooding during afternoon storms. Saturday winds are coming from the Southeast and South at 10 to 15 mph. Rip current risk is low, but watch the flags at lifeguard stations.
Boating conditions feature winds from the Southeast at 10 knots. Expect a Light Chop with 2 foot seas in general, but choppier conditions near thunderstorms.
