Bryan Newton, president of Glen Oaks Community College, has been elected to the board of directors for the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement, according to a community announcement.

Newton will represent the Midwest region, which comprises 10 rural-serving colleges committed to agricultural excellence.

Glen Oaks recently joined the alliance, a USDA-affiliated consortium of rural-serving colleges working together to improve sustainable farming practices and prepare students for evolving careers in agriculture and natural resources.
