QUINCY — Many Quincy Public Schools students head back to school on Wednesday, with the rest on Thursday, to start the 2025-26 year.
“We’re kind of following what we did last year — a kindergarten staggered start, sixth-grade only and ninth-grade only on the first day,” QPS Director of Teaching and Learning Kim Dinkheller said
The start-of-school plan gives students transitioning to the junior high and high school a day to acclimate before seventh- and eighth-graders along with sophomores, juniors and seniors begin classes.
Elementary schools divided kindergarten classes, with some students attending Wednesday, some on Thursday and all expected on Friday.
