Gladys Little was a caregiver, nurturer, teacher and a pillar of her family.
She lived a life guided by love, compassion and taking care of those who needed it . The 79-year-old retired nurse was known for her bountiful garden, homemade baked goods and smiling face.
All of that was ripped away from her family and friends on May 15, 2020, when Little and Larissa Shingebis crossed paths inside the senior’s Hamilton apartment building , assistant Crown attorney Eric Taylor said during Shingebis’ sentencing hearing Friday.
Shingebis, whose trial began in January , had pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Little, who was found dead in her home at 187 Park St. S. on May 16, 2020, just hours after missing a regular phone call with her son.
