There has been a troublingly low key reaction from local councils so far to our news that a company providing residential care to some of our region's most troubled and vulnerable kids was so bad at looking after them that several were exposed to dire risks of harm.
Children went missing with apparent ease from the three homes in Sandwell, Coventry and Telford, with Birmingham City Council's children's trust among the private firm's clients.
And in one especially dire example, two children went missing overnight and one later reported being 'taken to a hotel by adult males and sexually assaulted' and possibly drugged. Another with a history of 'fascination' with knives and gangs was taken by staff several times to meet 'unknown friends' and later committed crime.
