Police arrested a driver who allegedly drove onto football fields and crashed their car near a children’s football practice, authorities said.

West Deptford Police responded to the RiverWinds Complex at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday where a person was reportedly driving their car on the fields. The vehicle eventually crashed into a lamp post, township police said in a statement.

The incident happened in close proximity to where a large group of juveniles were taking part in a football practice, authorities said. Based on the investigation and witness statements, police believe the driver’s actions were deliberate and meant to cause harm to individuals at the practice.
