Detectives investigating the murder of a man found on a bench near a canal towpath have made a second arrest.

A 41-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Robert Brown by officers last night, Friday, August 8, and remains in police custody.

Northamptonshire Police launched a murder investigation after paramedics and police were called to the bench area behind Auctioneers Court, in Northampton, around 6.30am on Friday, August 1.

The circumstances that led to the death of Mr Brown, who was from the town, are not yet known but a post-mortem examination revealed he had an arm injury.
