Five teenagers - one a 14 year-old boy - have been arrested after a man aged in his 50s was killed in a pickup truck crash, police have revealed. Police said the man was 'fatally struck' by the vehicle as he walked across a road.
The pickup truck - a Toyota Hilux Invincible - was said by police to have been 'in close proximity' to a Volkswagen Golf at the time of the collision. The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of medics. He hasn't been named.
Emergency services were called to Burnley Road in Crawshawbooth, Lancashire, at just after 10pm on Friday night.
An 18-year-old man from Rawtenstall has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, police said.
