Baltimore police are investigating after a 38-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday morning in the city’s Lexington neighborhood.

Officers said they received a ShotSpotter alert for discharging in 2500 block of West Franklin Street just after 9 a.m.

Upon arrival, police located the man with multiple gunshot wounds. Aid was provided to the victim and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The man was pronounced dead a short time later.
