Korean Air has scrapped plans to deploy the Boeing 747-8 to New York JFK while halving the number of Airbus A380 flights to Los Angeles this winter. Scheduling data from aviation analytics company Cirium shows A380 flights to LAX will scale down from 14 to 7 weekly services starting in November 2025.
The Korean carrier has moved the spare A380 capacity over to New York JFK instead of the 747-8i, adding a daily frequency from November through March 2026. It currently serves New York with two daily flights shared by the A380 and Boeing 777-300ER, and had planned to drop the A380 from JFK duties this winter.
