GREENE CO. — A head-on collision on North State Road 45 near mile marker 27 resulted in a fatality on Friday, August 8, at approximately 2:40 p.m.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by William Brand, 41, of Bedford, was traveling northbound when it collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F-450, driven by Michael Kieft, 49, of Bloomfield.

Brand was pronounced dead at the scene. Kieft was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

The crash is being investigated by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Weeks. Assisting departments included the Indiana State Police, Eastern Greene School Police and Fire, Greene County EMS, and the Greene County Coroner’s Office.
