An author of a popular, long-running book series can wind up with a problem. Try something new, and fans might just want the familiar favorite.
But Karin Slaughter, riding high on the success of her “Will Trent” series and the very successful television adaptation, has fearlessly put Will aside (temporarily, we have to hope) in favor of new characters solving new crimes.
Chances are, Slaughter will get plenty of “Will Trent” questions when she visits the St. Louis County Library for a ticketed event Aug. 15. But she will be there to talk about “We Are All Guilty Here,” out Aug. 12 and introducing the Clifton family of little North Falls, Georgia. (Yes, we’re still in Georgia, Slaughter’s home state.)
Emmy Clifton is deputy to her sheriff dad, Gerald Clifton, a fixture in North Falls.
