WEST FARGO — When Green Day released the 2004 concept album “American Idiot,” I was less than impressed. There were individual songs that were among some of the trio’s best, but on the whole I thought the album was overly ambitious and the concept convoluted.
I hadn’t listened to it again in 20 years.
That was until opening night of Stage West’s production of the musical, “American Idiot” at The Lights in West Fargo. The show burns bright with electric performances that make me want to go back and see what I’d been missing on that album.
