The beloved RAF Harrowbeer 1940s weekend is set to return to Dartmoor on 16 and 17 August. From classic vehicles to military exhibits and trade stalls, the event which organised by the RAF Harrowbeer Interest Group promises to give locals a feel of wartime life.

Taking place at the former RAF Airfield near Yelverton, the event has occurred annually since 2011, which marked the 70th anniversary of the opening of the site.

Stephen Fryer, one of the local organisers, explained “it was such a popular event that it quickly became a regular fixture in the calendar”.

From Second World War re-enactments to wartime displays, Stephen promised that this event would bring “Harrowbeer’s history to life” and show “what life was like for everyone in the 1940s”.
