The Athletics placed right-handed pitcher Luis Severino on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Wednesday, with a left oblique strain and recalled left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced on Saturday.

Severino was the A’s Opening Day starter and has gone 6-11 with a 4.82 ERA in 24 starts, including 103 strikeouts and 44 walks in 136.1 innings pitched. In his last five starts he is 4-1 with a 2.93 ERA, 30 strikeouts, and eight walks in 27.2 innings of work after starting the season 2-10 with a 5.30 ERA in his first 19 starts spanning 108.2 innings.

Harris returns to the A’s for his third stint after being optioned to Las Vegas on July 23. In 30 Major League appearances, he is 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA in 41.1 innings pitched. In 10 Triple-A outings, he i
