The Edmonton Oilers have been going through an offense full of disappointment. For the second straight year, Connor McDavid and company were denied a championship by the Florida Panthers.

Just two years ago, they were defeated in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final by the Panthers. Last season, they lost in six games to the same team.

Losing in the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back seasons is extremely frustrating.

While the Oilers are hoping to get back to the same point and end with a different result during the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season, McDavid's future has also become a major talking point.

McDavid has just one year remaining on his contract. Next offseason, he could leave Edmonton should he choose to do so.
