CHICAGO — Bo Naylor’s recent offensive surge earned him a promotion in the lineup Saturday, with manager Stephen Vogt moving Naylor to the No. 5 spot ahead the Guardians’ game against the White Sox at Rate Field.
Naylor has been swinging a hot bat, posting a .243 average with an .896 OPS, including seven extra-base hits and seven RBI in his last 13 games since Cleveland’s series against Baltimore on July 21. It’s a marked improvement from earlier in the month when his average had dipped to .166 and his struggles at the plate were evident.
