Sean McVay knows the Los Angeles Rams will need to be healthy for the regular season, and with Matthew Stafford’s recent issue, expectations are high for him to be ready by Week 1. Based on the head coach’s latest comments, that appears to be the case.

“It was great. He looked awesome,” McVay said of Stafford’s workout today. “He was able to activate all parts of the field. He looked strong, he looked sturdy. It was a very good step in the right direction and he looked like the guy we’re accustomed to seeing.”

If McVay’s assessment is accurate, Stafford is likely moving past the back issue reported just over a week ago — a concern that had left the Rams in a precarious spot without their starting quarterback.
