HARTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - One person is dead after a severe head on collision Saturday.

Vermont State Police said it happened on Route 12 in the Town of Hartland - near Cobb Hill Road just after 1:00pm.

A southbound SUV and a northbound pick-up truck collided head on killing the SUV driver. That person’s identity has not been released at this time.

The driver of the truck, 77-yr old Joseph Petrone and his passenger were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

State Police are asking if anyone may have witnessed this crash to please contact them.
