Man at center of standoff after welfare check at Kings Mountain hotel dies by suicide, police say

A man who was the subject of an hours-long negotiation at the Holiday Inn Express in Kings Mountain on Saturday died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to law enforcement.
