LUCERNE>>> A 26-acre fire burning in Lucerne prompted evacuation warnings for several neighborhoods Saturday afternoon, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The blaze, dubbed the Arden Fire, burned at a moderate rate of spread with a moderate risk to nearby structures, according to Cal Fire spokesperson Jason Clay.

Initially, evacuations were ordered for zones LUC-E053, LUC-E063, LUC-E067, and LUC-E059 but those were downgraded to warnings around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Evacuees were directed to a temporary evacuation point overseen by the County’s IHSS (In Home Supportive Services) and briefly operated by on-call staff from the Konocti Unified School District at the parking lot of East Lake Elementary School in Clearlake Oaks.
