The biennial GreenStage Guilford festival has learned to grow by shrinking, to tighten things up by spreading them out and not to insist on a certain time of year if it may mean rain.
This year’s festival runs from Aug. 10-17 in and around the Guilford Green. It offers music, poetry, dance, puppetry, pageantry and more. Some of the events allow the audience a chance to participate, but the whole festival is designed to invigorating and inviting and progressive, enhanced by most of it taking place outdoors in Summertime.
“From the beginning we were a multi-day, multi-venue festival with a focus on Connecticut artists. We wanted original work and we wanted this thing to be as diverse as possible, not just multicultural by diverse artistically,” said GreenStage Guilford’s executive direct
