According to the latest FDU poll, Democrat Mikie Sherrill currently has an 8 point lead over Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli.
If you have any faith in early statewide polling, you’re a more trusting individual than I am.
This most recent poll is about as useful as the Quinnipiac poll released right after the primaries that had Sherrill ahead by 24 points. The race was never 24 points and the reality of our current demographics suggests it’s probably a little closer than 8.
Come the fall, the race will heat up, the ads will flood the airwaves and the margins will close. If the election ends up being close, Jack Ciattarelli might have some regrets about hitching his hopes to the Trump train.
