Tuesday night into early Wednesday marks the peak of this year's Perseid meteor shower, particularly near and after midnight until dawn toward the constellation Perseus in the northeast sky.

Earth will be passing through the densest and dustiest part of the Comet Swift-Tuttle trail during this timeframe.

Since we will be just a few days removed from a full moon, though, the fainter meteors will likely be obscured significantly decreasing the number of meteors you are be able to see with the naked eye.
