PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two Lindsay police officers and a civilian were hospitalized Saturday night following a violent crash that occurred during a police pursuit in Tulare County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. near Avenue 216 and Road 232. The officers were pursuing a BMW SUV when their patrol vehicle collided with a Toyota Tundra that the officers said failed to stop at a stop sign.
Authorities say the driver of the Tundra, a man from Strathmore, is suspected of driving under the influence. Despite the police vehicle's sirens and lights, the driver did not stop and was struck by the pursuing officers. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn.
