I don’t know what exactly it is, but this Yankee team cannot establish any kind of run. They haven’t won consecutive series since the end of May and they’ve had a winning streak of any kind just once in the past three weeks (a three-gamer against the Rays just before the Trade Deadline).

The Yankees lost 7-1 today against the Astros, dropping the series at home after Trent Grisham’s massive home run yesterday. Of course they lost in miserable fashion on Friday following David Bednar’s clutch relief work in Texas. There have been some big wins in this very bad stretch of Yankee baseball, the kind of wins that would otherwise feature in documentaries as The Game That Turned Things Around.
