PORTLAND, Ore. — Will Power scored a much-needed IndyCar victory Sunday at Portland International Raceway as Chip Ganassi Racing's Alex Palou clinched his third consecutive series championship as well as his fourth in the last five years.

Power, who admitted Friday he does not have a contract yet for 2026 , held off Christian Lundgaard as well as Palou to score not just his first win of the season, but also the first win all year for Team Penske.

Palou clinched the title after his only championship challenger, Pato O'Ward, suffered an electrical problem early in the race. Palou needed to have at least a 108-point lead over O'Ward by the end of the race in order to seal his fourth career championship. Going into the race, he led O'Ward by 121 points.
