A man has died after he was restrained during a violent incident at a convenience store in Torpoint. The man, 52, was reported to police after members of staff at the Co-op store in Fore Street were attacked and customers abused on Wednesday, August 6.
He was restrained by a male customer but became unresponsive a short while later, PlymouthLive reported last week . The man was taken to hospital in a a critical condition.
Devon and Cornwall Police have since confirmed the man died in hospital on Saturday, August 9.
A man in his 40s, from Millbrook, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until November 1 while further enquiries are carried out into the incident. Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for more information from anyone who saw what happened.
