ROCK HILL, S.C. — South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace will hold a town hall in downtown Rock Hill on Monday, one of her first major public events since officially announcing she’s running for governor.

Mace made her campaign announcement on Aug. 4, first on social media and then during a formal launch at The Citadel, the military college where she graduated.

In her announcement, she said South Carolina deserves a governor who will put the people first and bring more transparency to Columbia.

"South Carolina is tired of politicians who smile for the cameras, lie to your face, and then vanish when it's time to lead," Mace said. "I'm not one of them.
