Thinking has been woven into daily life at Plymouth High School for Girls for more than 20 years — now the school has received official recognition for it.

The University of Exeter has accredited Plymouth High as a Thinking School, acknowledging its commitment to developing independent, reflective and metacognitive learners. The status is awarded to schools that take a whole-school approach to cognitive education , embedding strategies such as De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, Thinking Maps, Habits of Mind and Thinker’s Keys into teaching across all subjects.
