A woman was brutally attacked by a rapist after he dragged her into some bushes, a court heard.

Michael James was told to stop by his victim, but he ignored her pleas and raped her in a horrific ordeal.

Derby Crown Court heard how the woman gave up fighting back as “it would only make things worse”.

James, 25, then lied to the police claiming what happened was consensual before making the woman relive what happened as she evidence at a trial.
