The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Taevon Jamir Arnold. He was 31 and lived in Kimberly.
A suspect is in custody.
The shooting, which also left a woman wounded, was captured on surveillance cameras. It happened just before 6 p.m. Friday.
The video showed roughly eight men hanging out on the sidewalk on 14th Street North between First and Second avenues.
There appeared to be some kind of interaction taking place and the suspect walked to the middle of the street and shots rang out.
The victim also brandished a gun but it wasn’t clear from the video if he actually fired shots before he was shot.
