Medics said "nothing could be done" to save a woman found at a Smethwick industrial estate.

Emergency services were called to Woodburn Road just after 6.10am on Monday, August 11.

Sadly, the woman could not be revived and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police has now launched a murder investigation.

The road has been sealed off, with a blue tent visible inside the cordon.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.17am to an incident on Woodburn Road, Smethwick.

"Two ambulances attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a woman.

"Sadly, it was clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.” READ MORE: Pictured: P
