Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey just utilized social media in perhaps the most practical way possible. He asked for help on using a very confusing kitchen tool.
Maxey stared an Instagram Live session on Monday to ask his followers for help on how to use an old school can opener, one of the most nefarious and perplexing of all the kitchen tools. Seriously, those things stink and are very hard to use.
Rather than struggle in silence, Maxey made the particularly inspired move of asking for Instagram's help. Thankfully, he must have gotten the information he needed because he got his can of pumpkin open, seemingly to feed his dogs. Those poor pups might have an upset stomach if pumpkin is on the menu.
Speaking from experience as a person who has quite literally struggled to use an classic can opener to open a can of pumpkin for their dog and had to wait to ask their wife for help, I wish I'd come up with Maxey's clever strategy to get his instant answer.
The world still hasn't found a way to avoid these ridiculously archaic can openers, so good on Maxey for figuring out that social media really does have at least one good use... figuring out how to get a can open the old-fashioned way.
Maxey is a hero to all of us who need to get that stupid can of pumpkin open as soon as possible.
Why do we still use those stupid can openers as a society?
We don't dream enough anymore. We stopped going to the moon. We stopped reaching for the stars.
