PHOENIX — The husband of a former Phoenix news anchor has recently pleaded guilty in a criminal case that accused the couple of defrauding the government's pandemic relief program.

A jury in Texas found Stephanie Hockridge , who was an anchor at ABC15 for several years, guilty of conspiracy following the end of a trial in June. Hockridge was acquitted of multiple counts of wire fraud.

Nathan Reis, Hockridge's husband, was scheduled to have his own trial but court records show Reis recently entered into a plea deal. He's scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 21.

Federal officials accused the couple of conspiring to take advantage of the Paycheck Protection Program, which was intended to help businesses hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2020, Reis and Hockridge formed a company named
