CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Western Massachusetts communities are opening cooling centers this week as the weather begins to heat up.

According to the 22News Storm Team, temperatures will hit the lower 90s from Monday to Wednesday this week, prompting towns and cities in the area to open cooling centers for those seeking relief from the heat.

Greenfield • John Zon Community Center: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. • Greenfield Housing Authority Community Room: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. • Oak Courts Common Room: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. • Greenfield Public Library: 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. • Greenfield City Hall: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Springfield • Indian Orchard Community Center at Myrtle Street Park: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. • South End Community Center: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. • Raymond A. Jorda
