KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A Kearney man is serving jail time following a crash that killed a bicyclist more than a year ago.
According to Buffalo County District Court records, 40-year-old Nathaniel Heckenlively pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
He was sentenced last week to 60 days in jail as well as a year probation. His license is also revoked for a year and he’s ordered to pay court fines.
The charge comes following an early morning deadly crash on Aug. 1, 2024. It happened on East 56th just east of Antelope Avenue, about a mile outside Kearney city limits.
