BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Louisiana ranks among the worst states to live in, according to a new study.
A WalletHub study placed Louisiana at No. 49 for livability. The study used 51 "key indicators," including housing costs, income growth, education rate, and more, to compile rankings.
Louisiana ranked: • No. 30 for housing costs. • No. 25 for homeownership rate. • No. 49 for the percentage of the population in poverty. • No. 41 for income growth. • No. 29 for the percentage of the insured population. • No. 46 for the percentage of adults in fair or poor health. • No. 47 for average weekly work hours. • No. 27 for restaurants per capita.
Other states ranking among the worst include New Mexico, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alaska.
