The peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower is almost here. The summer’s biggest “shooting star” show is known for having plentiful meteors, as well as the really bright streaks known as fireballs.

This week’s Perseid peak will happen on the nights of Aug. 12 and Aug. 13. Those are the nights the meteor shower will be at its most intense - and the nights you have the best chance of seeing multiple meteors arcing across the sky. But you’ll still be able to see Perseid meteor activity for another week or so, until the shower gradually phases out of our sky around Aug. 23.
