Brandon Blackstock died of skin cancer. On Monday, the Silver Bow County Coroner, Dan Hollis, confirmed to Rolling Stone that Kelly Clarkson ‘s ex-husband died of melanoma on Aug. 7.

“He passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana, on August 7th under hospice care, surrounded by his family,” Hollis told Rolling Stone , confirming that he died naturally.

Shortly after his death at 48, the talent manager’s family shared a statement announcing his death, but shared few details about his illness. “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,” Blackstock’s family said. “He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”
