(Gray News) – Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, died on Aug. 7 from skin cancer, according to a report from PEOPLE .

Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis confirmed to the outlet that Blackstock’s cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer. He was 48.

Blackstock, a talent manager, reportedly battled the cancer for three years and died at his home while under hospice care.

Blackstock leaves behind four children, including two with Clarkson.

Clarkson said she will be postponing the rest of her August Las Vegas residency dates in order to spend time with her daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9.

She confirmed this on her Instagram page , saying she needs to be “fully present” for her children during this difficult time.
