The first AP Poll of the 2025 college football season is here.

In the initial poll, Iowa State debuted at No. 22. Iowa is unranked but received five votes. In 2024, after an 11-win campaign and victory in the Pop-Tarts Bowl , ISU finished the season ranked No. 15.

There are four Big 12 teams ranked in this year's preseason poll: No. 11 Arizona State, No. 17 Kansas State, No. 22 ISU and No. 23 Texas Tech.

There are six Big 10 teams ranked: No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 7 Oregon, No. 12 Illinois, No. 14 Michigan No. 20 Indiana.
