The official cause of death for Kelly Clarkson’s ex husband Brandon Blackstock has been confirmed .

After the death of the talent manager on Thursday, who shared two children with the “Stronger” singer, Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis determined that he died from natural causes related to a melanoma diagnosis.

“Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7 under hospice care surrounded by his family,” Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis told People .

On Aug.7, Blackstock’s rep confirmed his death in a statement after his years long battle with cancer. He was 48-years-old.
